Contribution to University Education
One of the missions of MBFSZ is the contribution to the university education. The Survey operates two university departments furthermore the collegues participate in education of several domestic universities.University students are hosted for professional traineeship each summer.

The Department of Regional Geology of the Eötvös Loránd University was founded in 1988 and was placed into the Geological Institute of Hungary.
The activity of the Department is controlled by a cooperating contract between the University and the Survey. The aim of the cooperation is a joint effort in education, scientific research, innovation and in other tasks of profession.
Former Heads of Department: Dr. Géza Hámor (1988-1999), Dr. Géza Császár (1999-2008), Dr. László Fodor (2008-2014).

The Deparment was established by the Cooperation Agreement between the ancestor institute Geological and Geophyisical Institute of Hungary (MFGI) and the Faculty of Earth science and Engineering of the University of Miskolc on 31st January 2017. The Department aims to srtengthen the professional cooperation between the two institutions. The collegues of the Department participate in the education programmes of the Faculty in BSc, MSc and PhD levels utilizing their wide range of experiences in the fields of public administration, mining and earth sciences.
